Have you ever had someone tell you something extremely rude about the way that you look or about a choice that you’ve made?

There are two of these comments that are forever engrained in my mind. I’m going to share them with you! The first was said to me a few months after I had my daughter nearly 15 years ago. I happened to run into an old classmate of mine. I was so happy to see her. She looked me up and down and told me how F’ing (un-edited version) fat I had got. I could have just shriveled up and died! Another was from an ex boyfriend. He would CONSTANTLY tell me how fat and ugly I was. At the time, I started to believe him!

It might seem odd, but sometimes when I’m working out I think about these two people. When I think about them, I naturally PUSH just a little bit harder. I can hear their voices echoing through my head. I wish they were standing right next to me so that I could show them how their rude and hurtful words actually helped motivate me to become the person that I am today. They motivate me to this day to become better, stronger, and goal-oriented.

I don’t care who you are or where you came from, you can most likely think of some comments that were made in the past that can truly bring you down if you let them. Today, I encourage you to let those comments MOTIVATE you rather than bring you down! Let them encourage you to become a better version of YOU! Oh, and whatever you do…Make sure that YOUR words lift people up! Think about how you want to be remembered! <3
